Autumn

This year, we didn’t get to the Lavender Farm outside of Daylesford for Mother’s Day as we usually do.  We visited Daylesford and Kyneton the day before, with my hubby and dad too.

The plan was, after visiting a meat wholesaler, we would search for chestnuts on the side of the road in Daylesford, fill our empty bottles with natural mineral water from the springs, find some more red poisonous fairytale mushrooms…. and I also had the romantic notion of finding wild mushrooms that we could cook and eat!

Well, we got the meat, found about 7 chestnuts between the 5 of us, a few poisonous red mushrooms, left the empty water bottles back at home, and didn’t remember what kind of mushrooms were the safe ones to eat!

But it was a beautiful cold pre-Mother’s Day checking out the Autumn leaves and enjoying the beautiful homes in the area.

Here are some pictures from our fun family day out :-)

  1. wow Tash look like you and your family had an amazing day, I have to say my favorite images are of the that beautiful gate, would love to have that as my driveway up to my home...the other is of Leroy throwing the autumn leaves in the air...awesome photo hon...he has grown so much and looking more and more like his daddy, and I too have been waiting for the fairytale mushroom (toadstools)to pop out of the ground no such luck yet but many other mushrooms have popped up...and the image of your mum and Leroy is gorgeous...thanks so much for sharing your special day with us...xxx Kirst.

  12. It looks lovely! I know our seasons are opposite, but it is still strange to see you wearing coats when it's 90 degrees here!

My husband and I are planning to visit Australia next year in Sept. I'll have to trade notes with you on the best places to visit during that time of the year.
